Sufficiency, The Power of Enough

Sufficiency is the basic operating system of the Universe and all life. It is an absolute that has always existed; a context from which all matter and life emerges. Sufficiency is the overarching state within which birth, growth, death, and decay manifest continual cycles that emerge out of the creative force of the Universe. To the individual, Sufficiency might appear as a feeling – a sense of contentment, enoughness, rightness, peace, or perfection. What is being felt is really an attunement to the Sufficiency of the Universe.

Sufficiency exists outside the realm of emotion and judgment. It is unqualified by circumstance; it has no degrees. As one chooses to stand in the being of Sufficiency, there is a shift into a state of acceptance, wellness, and unity. One feels a sense of ease knowing there is enough of anything. Living Sufficiency is a constant awareness of acceptance, release, surrender, gratitude, and love.

Humans have the power to choose their context, vision, and operating systems by aligning their consciousness through the power of thought and word to any worldview. Letting go of the fear-based scarcity and lack paradigm of the modern world reveals a present moment choice of Sufficiency. In this way Sufficiency is felt as Universal Truth. What emerges is a choice not only to feel its rightness or resonance but also to adopt it as an operating system.

For the modern human, choosing the context Sufficiency is challenging because, in the fundamental separation from Earth that has birthed its civilizations, the modern world has been systematically cut off from the original blessing of Sufficiency. Choosing Sufficiency at first seems unusual and special - unfamiliar - yet viscerally familiar. As one becomes conscious that the grace of Sufficiency is always there, the context of Sufficiency expands. Sufficiency for the individual evolves into Sufficiency for community.

Many indigenous cultures are tied not only to the land and each other but also, to spiritual cosmologies that continually reinforce the basic truths of Sufficiency and love. In their world, alignment with the being of sufficiency is incomplete unless their family of origin, their extended family, their community, and their ecological relationship with Earth exists within the context of Sufficiency. When the modern human moves into living in a state of Sufficiency, there is a restoration of the natural state of Sufficiency for all life. As the context of Sufficiency is lived with love, all benefit.
